Mental Strength: How to Do Research

Well this sounds exciting, right? Actually, it really is! Research is how you can expand your ability to think & understand yourself / magick / the world around you. It's one thing to look up something really general like 'Tips For New Magick Practicioners' so that you can try some new things out, but understanding & using what you are reading to develop your mind / your lifestyle is a whole new level.


Truly researching a subject means starting broad & then narrowing down your focus to really gain additional understanding of specific information. This might mean you have a web tab open to an article, another one with an online dictionary to help you understand the words you don't know in aforementioned article, & then maybe several other tabs open where you are looking into individual concepts mentioned. It can be a whole rabbit hole... But the key to making this work is to have patience & remember the original idea you are trying to learn.


It might take you days, weeks, months, or even years to understand a subject fully. And rightly so! There is SO MUCH information in the world. But knowledge is power & that is what you are trying to seize for yourself. Plus, every little new piece of knowledge you gain along the way is still helping you reach your goal of being an all-power human dictionary who can run shit & manifest like you had in your handbag the whole time.


So how do you really know what to research? Starting with your current experiences whether they are magickal / health / philosophy / financial related is a great start. Let's look at an example:


As you are figuring out what works for your body, do a little research to learn why.

Greens make you feel good? Learn what vitamins they have and try other foods that have those- you just might learn to fix something you didn’t know was broken. Or how about that good downward dog stretch with your morning yoga…? Read about what muscles it relaxes and that may lead you to a realization of a daily posture habit that you can correct to feel more energized and less fatigued.


There is a wealth of knowledge you can give yourself, just find out how it relates to you and then OWN it.
